I was talking to a friend last night and she got me to thinking about my "broody raised" rooster. I had one from a hatchery who died at about this age and they seem different to me.
I noticed that when finding food for a hen, he first took it out from under her and then set it down a short distance away and clucked. She then ate it.
Now this boy was raised by one of my 12 hens and they watched him grow up. He is now 19 weeks old.
Do any of you see any differences if you have had a hatchery rooster vs. a hen raised rooster?
