Most my green eggs are very difficult to candle. No but it is the only green EE egg so it is pretty easy to see.
Oh yeah! If I don't seperate broodys, they will steal each others eggs every time they get up to take a $h!t. Back before the advise of only using pencils to mark eggs, I used an 8 pack of different colored sharpies to mark eggs. Nearly ever day with just a glance I could see where hens had stolen eggs from their community nest mates. I've even caught hens in the wrong nest, go to pick them up and them have an egg tucked under their wing ready to abscond with it. It very well could be you have a case of musical nests.Also...how close are/were the three hens sitting?
Is it possible they moved the eggs around between each other?
