Broody with a bloody comb

This works well for mosquitos too.
And for lice and mites.

I think they have that at my Tractor Supply, so I'll check when I go tomorrow. Thank you! Do I just put it on her directly with one of those bulbs you use for baby snot (don't have kids...don't know what those things are actually called) or do I sprinkle it in the bedding and nest?

I buy the SPRAY.
Not powder.

I would wait until the chickens were out of the coop for a little bit and spray it and around it. (Like at free ranging time...that is when I spray mine.)

Oh that makes sense. I will definitely buy the spray then, and make sure they're out of the coop. They roam free in the yard all day so they have plenty of "out" time! :)

So this is her little space...it's in the corner of my 8' x 16' run, and she has about 3' x 5' inside the fenced off area. I've been using the tarp to give her some privacy

One of my broodies that I made the mistake of isolating from the rest of the flock after she hatched her chick had to deal with re-establishing herself in the pecking order after weaning the chick. That resulted in numerous fights and a bloody comb. Perhaps your broody is mixing it up with others when you aren't looking.

Oh my I hope that isn't happening! She won't even get up to poo...I've been having to lift her off the nest :/

Some one could easily have hopped over that little fence to get her.
I'm sure of it.

Ah...I didn't think they would do that, but apparently they're feeling feisty. I'm going to put stakes in and run a garden fence around her, so I'll make sure to put a top on it too!
