Broody won't let others lay

That is great! Keep it in mind because sometimes you'll have to do a combo of crating and belly baths to break a super serious broody.
Big guns, you freeze bags of water wrap them in an old towel and keep them under the crate. Just have to cool that belly.:)

Orphingtons sort of love to go broody, you might be in for quite a bit of broody breaking.

It is funny because the one Orp goes broody all the time. The other one we joke that she is either really smart or really dumb. She was the last to start laying, at around 30 weeks! She has never gone broody, and seems to be the least "chicken-like" chicken I have ever seen. She keeps to herself happily, lays sporadically, tries to make friends with the cats, and seems to nit think anything through, kind of a spontaneous chicken.
