when a hen goes broody does she stop laying eggs?

Yep. Once she lays her clutch of eggs, which could be from 1 to 24, she will stop laying. If she sets on the eggs to hatch time then she will continue to not lay until the chicks are about 4 weeks old and she has distanced herself from them.

i have 19 other hens will she adopt their eggs too or will she jus sit on her own ?

You can give her eggs from other hens - she should set those as well.

i had a black australorp that sat on nothing. then i gave her some bantam eggs. she hatched one. then i tossed the others. she was a proud momma but that night i stole her baby and gave it back to the bantam momma. now she is not broody. yay i cant handle another broody at the moment.
