Brought home a puppy today! :D

Bellatrix was going to be Singe's name except, well, he's a boy. Not the girl we were originally shopping for lol
I like Bella. But when I look at that face she looks like a Lucy. Either way, definitely not a daffodil! what would you call her, daffy? though Daffy is a fitting name for some of the labs I've known.

Feeding 3x a day is ok. But 4-5 is better. I would feed her mushy puppy food 2-3 times a day and let her have formula 2x

here is a good example of furmula you could use

What I do is soak my puppy kibble(nutro natural chioce is what I use). I soak a bunch for 30 min, then mash it really good with a fork. I feed what I need and store the rest in the fridge. When you go to feed again, take it out of the fridge and mix with warm water to warm up the food. Some I microwave it for only a few seconds and triple check the temp to make sure it isn't too warm.

i'd be fairly confident that you have either a full blooded or mostly blooded Pit Bull... I have a younger pic of Bug in a similar position but this is the best i can do right now...

I would also guess pit or pit mix. I dont see any lab at all. They are only saying that because she is black. If she were brindle they would probably have said boxer mix

She's due in a week so we're keeping her away from other dogs until then

I see pit bull also. Cute little thing. I would up her meals to 4-5 times a day and get some milk replacer and mix that with her food instead of water. Good Luck with her!

at six weeks she needs her first set of shots - I've always been told and kept to the idea of keeping pups from social dog areas (not out of your own yard and away from other dogs that you don't know their vaccine history) until ATLEAST their 3rd set of puppy shots - because parvo is SO easy to catch. I have lost a puppy to parvo from a stray dog defecating in our yard - we didn't catch the parvo in time (he was a foster and was only 9 weeks old - only had 1 parvo shot @ vets when we first got him to foster) - almost lost another pup my daughter's when she contracted parvo from the vets office when another pup was brought in with it. caught that early - and did home treatments.

be very careful with your pup since its away from mom so young - you'll have to watch out for mal-nutrition issues and antibody resistence because she didn't get all of mom's protections she may have a weaker immune system for awhile. Keep her away from other others til 3 even 4 months old and her full round of shots... 6 weeks, 9 weeks, and 12 weeks and at 15 weeks is the last in the series for parvo.

I also vote for pit mix - maybe pit/lab - but definately more on the pit side. gorgeous pup.
