Brower Incubator.

So is there anything that you guys don't like about the Brower?

That's a really good price, think I paid around $190 for mine. I love this incubator. The light flashing on and off can be a little annoying at times. It was also noisy at first (gears need to break in) but holds temp. well and you can't beat the built in turner and forced air.
The only problem I've found is........ when you hatch geese like I do, the light bulb is not fully enclosed in the center tower and the goslings could potentially burn their bills on the bulb. I usually have to take them out of the incubator as soon as they start trying to stand. Not a big deal as long as your brooder is ready and at the right temp.

It would be nice to have an actual knob or dial to adjust the temperature. It is basically a phillips screw you have to turn.

Before you buy one check out my post from a couple of days ago. I did a lengthy critique of my brower top hatch. I am not pleased. Do a search with brower as key word and you will find my post.

Just thought of something else I don't like about it.
The turner rack, if left in during the hatch, causes the chicks, ducklings, goslings, to trip and fall all over the place. If you remove it, the wire flooring underneath it is kind of flimsy and there is enough space along the edges of the wire that their feet could slip through and get caught.
All of the issues I mention with this bator could be easily corrected with a little modification, I just haven't taken the time to do it yet.

Don't know if it's the incubator or luck but out of three batches of shipped goose eggs I've pulled off one 75% and two 100% hatches.

I have 6 goose eggs on day 3 in mine right now. I was thinking of making a wire guard to go around the light. tackyrama I'm sorry to hear of your issues with the top Hatch, have you contacted them to correct it?. I still stand by mine though. Brower has been in business since 1922 and is American made.

This is a great 1st time bator. I wrapped mine with bubble wrap to stabilize temp in old cold farm house. Never had a problem with it . I use it as a hatcher now. This thing is almost foolproof. So easy to clean after hatch. Cant say enough good about it.
