Brown leghorn eye bands - does this by itself mean male or female?

I've been reading that the short eye bands across the eyes means it is a roo and the longer band means female. Is this really true?

This is one of mine. They both look similar. Does this mean he is a roo?

That doesn’t really mean anything.
Should be able to sex by 5 ish weeks, the boys will have quite the developed comb and wattles by then!
