Brown leghorn laying

Another question: since it's winter and cold and less light and all. should she now be having eggs everyday like her golden comet sister? Because she didn't have one today. she was still acting herself though. but no egg.

Each chicken lays at its own rate - and especially at the start, while their bodies are figuring things out, they can be very erratic with frequency, egg quality and size, etc.

Looks like she's going to be an every other day layer for the winter at least. It doesn't look like I am getting one today, but I got one yesterday, just a tad bit of blood.

I was told she was a Leghorn, Buff, as well as her 2 sisters , but then she laid a really dark egg. So any guessas to what she might ACTUALLY be . this is Elsa

Where did you get her: a hatchery, feed, store, or from somebody? Knowing something of her backstory could help figure out what she might be.

She could be some type of red sex link, maybe a cross between two specific breeds, or a mix of several things. It's possible she could have some Leghorn in her background, even with that dark brown egg, depends on what else is there. The very first eggs from a brown egg layer are often as dark as they ever will be fir different reasons, none of them bad.

OK Her (Elsa, Snow and (Killer)Frost) named by grands lol lovely temperaments and easy to handle , laid a couple of soft shells couldn't see color as they and the other ladies had an early breakfast. The one's today are Terra cotta I suppose, I'd say red .... and I got them from Tractor Supply it was mixed pen so I could have gotten whatever else was in there
