I have a brown leghorn... 2 weeks old, bought as a pullet.... but it has a pretty darn big comb compared to any of the other chicks I have raised...but because leghorns have a different kind of comb than any of my other chickens, I don't know if it is a roo, or if that's just what the combs on brown leghorn pullets look like at 2 weeks???

So, someone who knows more than me about brown leghorns, or soft floppy combs.. let me know, is this a rooster?

by the way, this chicken was very camera shy...

I wanna think boy, but again Leghorn pullets have really big combs too. So if it is a pullet, she will have a larger comb than the other breeds of pullets.

It is not only the comb.Look at black chest feathers.Hen will grow light chest

does anyone have pics of a brown leghorn, pullet or roo, around this age? 2 to 3 weeks??

I don't have any pictures but I have several in brooders. That's a cockerel. Once Brown Leghorns start to feather it's easy to distinguish between males & females. The colours are very different.
The comb size is also telling. Even though Leghorn females do have large combs at maturity one would not have a comb that large at that age.
