Brown membrane ?? Pipped for 2 days

The chick pipped on Monday 6/4/18 but hasn't made much progress in 2 days the hole has grown to about thumbnail width but has stayed that size for a day and the membrane has turned brown now. Is there anything I should do to help it. The chick has been peeping and wiggling it's beak but it's not trying to break anymore of the shell .

If the membran is brown you may need to gently open it enough to lightly coat it with coconut oil or Neosporin or vasline to keep it moist. What is the humidity in the bator?

It was at 68 last time I checked but it sometimes goes from 60's to 70's. The membrane looks see through even though it's brown

A few others are all white and not see through

Himitdy is not bad. It sounds like its drying out. Can you put anything on it before you leave?

Thx. When I get home do I just completely take him out once I make sure theirs no veins or yolk still connected or just open it enough for him to get out himself. He's able to breath and kept wiggling when he heard peeps so he's probably ok for a while .
