Brown Rouen

I have a Rouen female, that has worn all of her feathers off her bottom side. Is this normal?? Seems like it would be very uncomfortable, is there a possibility of infection? Is there any way to prevent this???

Something is not right. Feathers generally do not wear off.

What kind of housing does she have?

My ducks are free to wonder on 1 acre fenced in area, with a pond. They are secured in a smaller area at night, with a house that has pine shavings for bedding.

Her bottom side drags on the ground wherever she goes. Is this normal?

I don't have Rouens, I don't know that it's normal.

I was hoping someone with that breed would check in.

Rouens do get to be that way where they are touching the ground but that doesn't explain why her feathers are being worn off? I agree with Amiga how is she doing now? If she's still the same I'd try to catch her and flip her over. Maybe there's something going on that you can't see
