my husband and I just agreed that we have to replace one of the 2x2 perches with a 2x4 with the 4 side up. Do you think she will be ok in the nesting box on a 25 degree night?yes I think that may be what we have to do

forgot to reply to second half of your question. The rest of my gang is normal sized except my cookies n' cream and my cream legbar. I have two Buffs, a Black Copper Maran, a Green Queen, a Speckled Sussex, and a brown leghorn. Also the bars might be too close to the ceiling for her to be comfortable. Brahmas can get tall. If you bring the bar down a few inches, that could be more comfortable also. Are the rest of your hens smaller breeds?
25 degrees isn’t a problem as long as there isn’t a draft blowing on her. If there is, you might have to cover the draft for the night.my husband and I just agreed that we have to replace one of the 2x2 perches with a 2x4 with the 4 side up. This is my 3 Brahmas too, they use a ladder to hop up to the roosting bars.I had to put a ramp up to the roost for my Brahma. As an adult she couldn't get more than about 18" of "flight" -- more of a wing-assisted hop.
