Sedona Fire wandered onto the top of a hill. She looked down and saw Orestes. Scarlet shook her head and whinnied at him, then started to gallop down the hill his way.

Orestes lifted his head, hearing the whinny. He recognized the mare and whinnying back at her, stood his ground as she headed his way. Crazy's back.

Ace smiled at the little foal and lifting his head yet again, gave a nicker in reply
Scorch eventually tired of grooming for now and started walking, whinnying for the herd. She was lead mare; thus she led, they followed.

Inferno walked after her twin, and the foals flanked her.

Scorch walked in silence, searching for a new area with both water and grazing land. Such land wasn't visible yet, only a dry landscape and brittle tufts of grass.

Scarlet slid some going down but she recovered her footage and then trotted up to Orestes, nickering.

Orestes wasn't falling for the same trick twice. When Scarlet came up, looking harmless and nickering, the bay stallion backed his ears, eyeing her warily.
