Just curious what type of bedding or floor do you have these chicks on? It seems very odd to me that they all have this to some degree or another. I am no expert but it does not look like any type of bumble foot I have ever seen. Almost makes me think of chemical blisters or something.

Edited to say: I suppose it could be genetic and if the birds came from a feed store then they should be notified so that they can call the hatchery from which the birds were purchased.

Just got back from the feed store and talked with the "chicken Expert" he said it was from the flooring in the store and hatchery transport.
Today, after separating them, and changing flooring from paper towels to shavings, the scabs are almost all gone. I was so surprised and wondered if in my "old age"(57) I could be seeing things.

I suppose the shavings could of pulled off the scabby bumps. The deal is... it looked so different than any other chick I've had... not so many. And a scared chicken mama is nothing to mess with. Thanks so much for your input. This site helped me to feel more in control and that eventually get the answers that I needed.

I am so happy you found out what was wrong. I tried doing a search to find anything like yours and I couldn't.

I have a 2 week old chick that I hatched out. There are 8 of them. I noticed that one has black bumps on the bottom of his/her feet. Trouble walking and uses its wings to stay up. They have been on the same shavings since the day after they hatched. Only one has this issue.
