Hey everybody.
I have a couple of BSL chicks from TSC. **Understand, no one was clear that they were BSLs, I originally thought they were dominiques--still unsure.**
They are now 2 weeks old. I've kept them inside with some other chicks in the brooder bassinet. One of the BSL chicks--"Moonshine" has feathered out rather quickly. Is still getting neck feathers, but still far more feathered than "Velvet (aka Moscato)".
Velvet has her little wing feathers partially and is still all downy/fuzzy everywhere else. Should I be concerned?
TSC is often vague about the breed of chicks as we all know. Is it possible that they are 2 different breeds?
Below are some pics of Velvet. She's the tiniest chick and loves being held and loved. I'm smitten.
I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thank you in advance.
Velvet on Left, Moonshine on Right---Velvet hardly has any tailfeathers (sorry about the blurry pic--still figuring out how to take pics of moving targets.
