We use the word "participate" in conjunction with "posting". So by posting, you are participating here on BYC.

Hi, this is my first time selling on BYC. How does one deal with buyers/members who flake? There's feedback that buyers can leave sellers, but what about feedback of members or a warning list for other sellers. This is why I posted here rather than on Craigslist. Thanks for any advice.

Feedback goes both ways.

Check out the feedback of anyone you want to do a transaction with. Generally the more posts they have, the more trustworthy they tend to be, which is why we have a requirement of at least 20 posts before being allowed to use the Buy Sell Trade system.

You can also check out their posts. If they post mainly in the Games section, for example, they are more than likely a minor. Minors are not allowed to enter into any transaction on BYC.

Finally try to resolve any issues with the other party privately. If you are unsuccessful, you can contact a Staff member and we will look into the situation, though we may not be able to do much but keep tabs on the offender. The Buy Sell Trade system is a buyer (and seller) beware. It's a free and pretty much self monitoring area of the forum. Since we don't charge to use it, we don't have the staff to monitor it like other sites.

Please do not post about the issue on the forum. That just causes drama and you are less likely to get a resolution.

I am considering posting a thread about some of my Silkie hatching eggs but I find the Buy/Sell/Trade section confusing to understand.

From what I've gathered, it's free to create a thread on and as long as you agree to the terms etc you can post here?

Anything else I need to know before doing so. I just want to make sure I'm doing things right.

Yeah, just read the BST rules, which are pinned at the top of each BST section, and make sure that your post abides by them, and you should be fine.

If you have a lot of changes, it might be easier to post a new ad, then report the old one and ask for deletion, noting the reason in the comments of the report. Otherwise, report the one you want to edit and let us know what you want and we'll take a look.

Hi, I was wondering if there is any special permission or something that would allow me to post in the BST. Am wondering if it's possible for me to list my for-sale Silkies on here. Here is that part of the post by @DuckLady "You must be at least 18 years old to participate in the BST/swaps sections of the site. You can not swap or buy or sell or conduct any transaction in BST or any part of the forum if you are under 18" After reading, I realized it would not be possible for me to post any of my birds. My website is cssilkies.com if you would like to verify that it is a legit business.
