OMG .... These Buckeye chicks make the funniest chirping noise!

They sound like one of those clickers my father used to carry in his pocket, kinda like a cricket sound or something. I find it so amusing!

What do they sound like when they grow up?

My bantam buckeyes are very noisy when I go out to the coop. The chirp, whistle, make a purring sound and all kinds of other noises. Sometimes I go out just to listen to them.

Hi folks,

For some reason, even though I was subscribed to this thread, reply notices haven't hit my mailbox, so I thought no one was posting. Silly me!

Glad to see all the pics and hear of chicks hatching. I'm going to brave the snow (thumb my nose at it really) and set my first hatch today. Like Dave says "Wednesday and Sunday, Wednesday and Sunday."

Hope you've all been keeping warm during the storms passing through the midwest. We're on our third snow day this week here, and something like 8th or 9th for the month. My kids have cabin fever to a certain extent, but they know better than to tell me they're bored, as there is always work to do on a farm.

At any rate, glad to see this thread is going along tickety-boo, will stop in more often and not wait for alerts in my inbox. Keep warm everyone!

The chicks look really good. Look just like mine(imagine that). Some day I'm going to learn how to post pictures on this thing.

Cute babbies!!!

I SO BADLY want to set some eggs, but with the wretched weather we're having am afraid of power outages. And now I've heard we may have sleet/snow/freezing rain this weekend. ARGGGGHHH!
