I went to the APA show in Hutchinson, Kansas, today -- a double judged show. The Wounded Warrior (Buckeye cockerel) placed Champion American AND Reserve Champion Large Fowl in both shows under a combination of three judges!! We even came home with $55 in prize money

And to think I almost maimed him...well, actually I did -- when he was about 12 wks old, but he recovered. Three weeks of intensive care.

And FWIW, THAT is when you can use the word Champion for your bird.
