I have three young Buckeyes. Breed standard says they have yellow legs. I just noticed that my oldest Buckeye has legs the same color as my Buff Orpingtons. They don't look yellow. They look more pink/white. Is that correct? Maybe because she's young they aren't bright yellow?
Here's a pic.

The pictures I've seen had bright yellow, no mistaking.

Buckeye's are an American breed which are widely known for having yellow skin and yellow legs. Pink/White legs are not going to be well-desired for breeding or for showing.

Where did you find the bird? From the picture it looks like she's spangled which leads me to think that she has Sussex in her. Which could explain the color of legs (Sussex is an English breed which are characterized by white/pink legs and meat)

I agree.

I got her from a woman that is supposedly "helping preserve the breed." She has the Buckeyes in an entirely separate area of her farm, though I've never been there. She sells Easter eggers (she termed Ameraucana), but those are "housed and a penned separately." I know I got a "Olive Egger" (Marans/Ameraucana) cross from her that is also suspect since the bottoms of her black feet are bright yellow. From the way she talked, Im not aware of any other breeds she kept on her place since those were the only breeds she advertised and sold. I lost the other chick I bought with this one, and while it was darker and had more consistent red also was tri colored. The two others I have right now are only about 4weeks old. One is almost totally consistent brown/red, and the other is spangled like this one. I hadn't really taken note of their legs until now.

Got pictures of my little Buckeyes!
This lighter one:

Has yellow legs:

And the darker, more evenly colored:

Has the white/pinkish legs:

They all have the cream spangling, but the newer ones have barely a touch of black while my older two have/had much much more black. Now I'm so confused!

They look fairly young, so they may loose the "spangling" in a later molt. The pink/white legs however, are probably here to stay. Sorry.
