Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I don't want to start anything here, but I prefer natural immunity. My body was fearfully and wonderfully made. Never gets anything very badly and I believe that's because I have allowed the bugs to be fought off naturally.

Had covid twice and it lasted 3 days each time. Didn't go to the doctor. Not a big deal at all for me. And still true after chemo. So, it will be annoying for a few days, but we'll ride it out. DH is about done with his today.

But, I can complain about it can't I? 😁

I was very close to being hospitalized from Covid both times I had it. I have asthma which made it worse. I can't get over colds very well either. Was sick over 2 weeks both times. Symptoms lingered 8 months last one.

I can fight off most everything else if it doesn't involve lungs.

I'm so sorry it was that bad for you. Certainly asthma would change everything for you.

I'm curious...were you vaccinated?

Not first time. Was one of the people who got it before it was known to be spreading in December of 2019. Had antibodies for it when tested later. Was vaccinated the 2nd time but got it when the dominant strain was changing. My uncle had got it early, too, and they were having him donate blood on a schedule so they could use the antibodies to save people. I'm not allowed to donate because I have issues with my iron.

What a noble thing for your uncle to do!

Well, I realize I'm fortunate. I've never had even a flu shot, even before covid. It isn't for me, but I understand you all for doing it. My system has worked so far and at 73 I don't really expect it to change. But you never know. Something will get me sometime I suppose.

Well come to think of it, I was pretty sick with a cold/flu in late 2017. Had to sleep sitting up in a chair all night in order to breath. Didn't go to the doctor. Probably should have gone to the hospital. IDK I just never have with anything like that. Always thinking I'll spread it.

Hey all after the last year and a half I had not been able to see my Doctor or get the blood draw to test my liver.
No thyroid it can go bad.
Can you see the doctor now? Why haven't you been able too? Hope all is okay!!

Haven't been here for quite some time. speaking of C, DH also had it, we believe, in Dec. 2019, We all got it over Christmas holidays. I lost both smell and taste for 6 mo., slowly regained both. Sometimes one or both can be wonky, or hypersensitive. We were on a cruise in January, everything shutdown in March. We've not had the jab for a few years now.

How's everyone enjoying the lovely warm sunny days? The chooks are, for sure, getting their rays in and dustbathing. Currently just finished checking my broody's clutch for 3 weeks for stolen or placed eggs. I was on a cruise, and my son didn't check for eggs during the last few days, so I came home to it. Made sure to candle and mark eggs. 4 out of 9 have hatched, now a week old. Dads are Mystic Marans, and moms of 3 are white leghorns. The last chick is from an olive egger mom. It's nice to have a broody doing all the work, and she even as a pullet has been a good mom. If another decides to brood, I think I'll let her have a clutch of olive and dark brown eggs. For awhile, one of the zombies was trying to co-brood, so I separated her (she was not welcome). She broke after a few days. I'll try to get some pictures soon.

We had a side swipe. Hubby almost dodged them. Lady decided she needed to get into the turn lane we were occupying without looking. Damage repair was valued at more than truck is worth so we just got the truck back. They said 5k to fix. I can fix with new parts for 1.5k, or do actual repairs for about 600, less if we hit the junkyard. Door damage is shallow and what Bondo is actually for. 100 for new front fender. 400 for rear fender if I can't pull the dent. Then sand, prime and paint.

Hubby forgot I'm actually good at metal work and was trained to do it on aircraft
