Buckeye or EE?

My last girl finally laid her first egg. Thought she was a Buckeye ( in my first post I asked hen/roo and someone said buckeye hen). I was her birthing coach and watched get laid it so I know definitely know it's hers!

But this egg color has me thrown.

Her photo looks a lot like my Buckeyes, but none of them has ever laid an egg like your girl's. I, too, would have been thrown. And, pleasantly surprised!

Definitely looks like a Buckeye, but that egg proves that she's not. Some sort of Egger!

The white coloring on the ear lobes tells the tale. She is not pure Buckeye. Could be a cross of one, or else just an Easter egger that happens to resemble a Buckeye. Very pretty hen!
