Ummm.. meet my Youngest budgie, Ocean. I’ve noticed that He’s been a little off lately. He has always jumped to welcome me when I hand feed Him, or find a millet seed, but now, he’s scared. I’ve noticed he breathes through his mouth sometimes, does a lot of head bobbing, and almost never eats or drinks. Really worried. My old budgie, hedwig, showed similar signs before she passed, but she was ten years, so..

He’s the blue.

I would take him to the vet if you have any concerns. Don't wait until it's too late.

Recently I noticed my budgie (11 months old) acting lethargic. I rang up my avian vet to book him in for an appointment (my vet prefers that to just showing up). Luckily, I got one that same morning. He was very sick and I was worried he would make it, the vet even said there was only a 50% chance. I had to leave him there for a few days while they ran tests and treated him. I took him in on a Thursday morning and picked him up the next Monday evening. He made a full recovery and is back with his flock mates. He was only a $20 budgie, and I had to spend about $200 on him (worth every cent though. Besides, that's not bad for five days of care and treatment).

He ended up fine, but any later and he wouldn't of made it. Please don't hesitate to get your budgie checked out by a vet.
