budgie fever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Budgies are indigenous to Australia so they can handle heat if provided shade and water or wet grass to roll in. They shouldn't be kept where temperatures fall much below 60-65 degrees.

I personally put mine outside in a cage during the summer. The cage goes in a shed at night or when weather is bad.

Care is pretty easy. They are a nice little pet whether you want to tame them or not.

well... the thing is that where i live it often gets over 100 degrees can they withstand that? in the shade of coarse

I get mine at the pet store. If you want a really tame one it might be worth finding a breeder, but If you buy young ones from the pet store they still can be tamed.

Otherwise keeping them in pairs, same sex or opposite sex or even more works well if taming isn't what you are interested in. You can also tame one, than get another after the first is tame.

The bigger the cage is better. Buy what you can afford. A bird should be able to spread their wings, and there should be room for toys, and perches. Budgies climb more than fly, but in a larger cage they will fly too. Avoid too small of a cage.

I keep mine indoors year round, I have read that they can handle somewhat cool temps if they adjust to it. I don't know how high they can handle, it gets up to 90F in my room during the summer on some days and they seem to do fine. It's alright to get them from pet stores, just pick one that looks healthy and active. I have seen some pretty sickly birds at the pet stores around here.
