Yup- that's Nugget!! I gave him my red frizzle hen for company. I plan on hatching from them once she starts laying and all my pens are set to go!

Thanks Lynne- He isn't exactly like PB but I sure like him. I can't wait for my little chick from PB to finish maturing. He is going to be very interesting to watch as he has lots of black barring. Probly won't be the best for this project but I think he will be stunning.

Thanks! Yup I started with a pair of Bantam Buff Laced last year. Right now I have Buff Laced and White Crested Black, my avatar is my newest Polish, a WC Blue roo, & I've got Silver Laced eggs cooking in the 'bator!

I have a color question and don't know who to ask!....... I have a Barred Roo (Hatchery) and a Red Colombian Hen (Home Bred)...... If I bred them together I'll get 100% barred babies right (or so I'm told)?? If I take one of the barred cockerels from the babies and breed him to another red Colombian ideally would I get other colors besides black barred?

I received 15 more babies. Most all of them are girls, there are barred boys and I suspect some buff boys but maybe only 2.
I can't wait for them to mature enough to hatch from them.

I don't know, I suspect you wouldn't get any black barred from that breeding but I am NO genetics expert.
I would really love to see pics of your Red Colombian though!!

Yeah, this year was slow going with only one buff barred hen to use. Now I have at least 10 more useable buffs to put with the males. And the buff barred roos will be nice to use in there, as well. I am so excited! Now if they would only get jobs..... LOL
