I purchased 2 Buff Brahma pullets as babies along with several other breeds of the same age. Now they are around 6-7 weeks old. The other chicks have all outgrown them! Do they grow slower or are they bantams??? He wasn't supposed to have bantams of that breed. He did have Silver Sebright bantams and I have a nice pair of those but I hadn't really wanted any other bantams! How tall should Brahmas be at this age?
Thanks!

Brahmas do grow slowly. I have a LF Light Brahma cockerel in a mixed flock and several same-age pullets (wyandotte, Jersey giant, barred rock) are larger than him--for now.

I don't know where you got yours, but the hatchery-quality birds might not get quite as big as show-quality birds.

I have 3 Brahmas and they have lagged way behind the other chickens from the beginning. Smaller, lighter in weight, less feathers, and less mature behaving....they are all going on 4 months now and the rooster still has only half his feathers! It's crazy how slow he is growing. He finally got some size on him - big thick legs and a huge, thick head and neck. But when you pick him up, he's just a ball of fluff with no real size. I was always told that Brahmas mature very slowly.

OK! I won't worry about them then. I guess they will catch up eventually!
Thanks!!
