Buff Brahmas

I purchased 5 female Buff Brahmas and 1 male Buff Brahma and 4 Light Brahmas from McMurray this spring. The Light Brahmas are fine and have all their feathers, but 5 of the 6 Buff Brahmas do not have any back feathers. There are not even any follicles for feathers to grow from. One of the five died about two months ago from an unknown cause but she was very unthrifty and also didn't have any back feathers. I believe this could be a genetic anomaly. Has anyone else had this problem?

It's been over fifteen years ago, but when I got them from a hatchery I had an issue with them taking forever to feather out. Just the Buffs, not the Dark or Light Brahmas.

What do they look like, are they being over bred or they never had feathers to begin with?

They never had feathers on their backs to begin with.

Thanks for the info. My Buffs have all their feather now, but only one of the Light has all her feathers.
