Buff Cochins Chicks got lazy :s

Do you have anyone in your area who is also raising chickens? You might find what they are feeding theirs and what is more locally available. If you are feeding them earthworms (or any kind of food that require "teeth"), they will need a little grit (tiny sharp stones or sand) with which to grind the food in their gizzard. You can add a fully cooked egg and/or a little yogurt if that is available. I'm not sure if there is anyone else on the forum from Pakistan. We tend to think in terms of "oh, I can just get that at the local feed store", but if one is not available, you have to be more creative. And you will notice that people are speaking of temperature in terms of Farenheit, rather than Celcius. That can get confusing as well

I do hope we can help you with your birds, however.
Have you also read "Raising Chickens 101?" There is a link at the "Learning Center" at the top of the page. That will give you some of the basics.

Welcome to BYC, Please do not feed them earthworms. When you get a chance read up on why it is bad to let them eat them. I'm thinking your babies need a boost. Try giving them one tsp of sugar to a quart of water. Make sure you help them drink and teach them. You'd be surprised how some forget or do not know. You just gently dip their beaks tip in the water a few times. Also, for a protein boost feed them hard boiled eggs chopped up. Sprinkle some sand as if it were salt on there just alittle bit to help with digestion. This will boost protein level and the sugar water is a good carb to help apply to muscle and growth properly. For bedding newspaper can be really slippery on their feet

See if you can put the hay in there but, you will have to make sure it does not get wet damp etc... If it does they could give them respitory issues. Sorry for the long post but, I know how hard it is being in the situation you are and not knowing what to do and having limited items.

The above quote is great advice. I think many people missed that you are in Pakistan. See if anyone near you has chickens, if possible, and inquire where they get supplies and what they recommend for feed.

Unfortunately there is no one who is raising chickens near me :s

Well I just give them worms for one day... I also feeding them boiled egg ... they like it a lot ...
Yogurt is available and can be found easily ... are you suggesting to put a little yogurt in a boiled egg...? Do I have to mash it like a paste?

Yes i noticed people are speaking of temperature in Fahrenheit ... i will be careful with that next time

for my chicks that didn't do well I gave hard boiled egg yolk mixed with yogurt and oats. maybe that with a bit of sugar added in might give it a little boost with extra protein

I did a quick Google search and this place might have the raw materials for making chicken feed:

You can also do a search on this site as some people make their own feed. You want to be careful not to have too much calcium in the feed for little ones, however, as it will harm their kidneys. It is important to somehow come up with some balanced feed for them while they are young. I have never made my own feed as it is easy to buy chicken feed around here.

It's about that lazy chick .... after feeding him 2-3 earthworms, he is much better now .... also feeding them boiled egg...​
