Southdowns are wonderful sheep! My dad raised them for years. So glad you found a couple for Clem to bond to and work with. The introductions look like they went well too.
Yes, I'd love to get some Southdowns in the future :) I do know of a breeder that will have some available come June/July 2013.

I wanted to get them for the winter to work with Clem. These guys are bigger than her, so I feel more comfortable with that.

Those two girls will hold their own, they look like adults yes? Do share pictures if you add more next summer, She looked very relaxed with them too, good choice of a job for her as she matures.

They are 9 months old. One month younger than Clem :) When do you call them adults? I'd say they are pretty close to it now. I will definitely share some more pictures :D The geese are in with the sheep at night, as they have a heated bucket in there to play in. There was a lot of hissing that first night, but after a good goosing from Winston, the sheep don't seem interested anymore.

Everyone together (minus one Tilly who was eating my boots at this point).

Yes they are close enough to called adults at their size/age. Watch the sheep, have a friend who lost a prized goose this year to goats who panicked and crushed her. I believe it was during a big storm, but would hate to read that happening again to someone else. Even pallets screwed together make good dividing walls.

Thanks for the tip! I'll most likely keep them in the chicken part now then :)

Totally loved the pics!

My mom had suffolks and some other odd all white sheep. She's a master crochet lady, and I had to learn to card and spin wool so she could crochet it. I'm afraid the quality of my work was less than ideal. Besides, I turned birght red whenever I worked with the aweful stuff. Turned out I'm allergic to wool. Do either of you attempt to clean and card and die and spin?

No we don't. I got them for Clem and to eventually use them for milk. I'm too allergic to wool - though not severely.. Not like I am (well, was - before allergy shots) to hay.

Thanks Marty!! :D
