Yes, I'd love to get some Southdowns in the futureSouthdowns are wonderful sheep! My dad raised them for years. So glad you found a couple for Clem to bond to and work with. The introductions look like they went well too.
They are 9 months old. One month younger than ClemThose two girls will hold their own, they look like adults yes? Do share pictures if you add more next summer, She looked very relaxed with them too, good choice of a job for her as she matures.
Thanks for the tip! I'll most likely keep them in the chicken part now thenYes they are close enough to called adults at their size/age. Watch the sheep, have a friend who lost a prized goose this year to goats who panicked and crushed her. I believe it was during a big storm, but would hate to read that happening again to someone else. Even pallets screwed together make good dividing walls.
No we don't. I got them for Clem and to eventually use them for milk. I'm too allergic to wool - though not severely.. Not like I am (well, was - before allergy shots) to hay.aoxa
Totally loved the pics!My mom had suffolks and some other odd all white sheep. She's a master crochet lady, and I had to learn to card and spin wool so she could crochet it. I'm afraid the quality of my work was less than ideal. Besides, I turned birght red whenever I worked with the aweful stuff. Turned out I'm allergic to wool. Do either of you attempt to clean and card and die and spin?
