I was always under the impression that angel wing was caused by lack of protein in the diet but your web page states the opposite. There is a park in St Joseph, Missouri that is loaded with geese. 90% of them have angel wing. They are raised on a bread junk food diet.
Wow!! You know Kurg Park?

Yes, Krug Park is about an hour drive across the state line from where we live. We go there often. How do you know about Krug Park? Its a beautiful place but the goose situation is bad. If seen a pair of Giant Dewlap Toulouse there once but they are no longer there. In fact Ive seen a lot of interesting drop offs there.

Why not get together a rescue team and get some of them out of there. Poultry 9 did it this year in their state..

A Person would have to contact the parks dept. I know for several years they rounded everyone up late fall and housed them over the winter. They were considered park property then. But no attention was given to them during the warmer months when people flock up there to feed them and the fish.

Really the geese have a good home and are well fed up there. It's just the nutrition the birds receive (bread junk food diet). People enjoy going there and feeding them. I wouldn't recommend bringing any geese home that have intermingled with wild geese. There could be a possibility of transmitting disease to your at home flock. You would be taking a great risk.

I can't imagin Krug without ducks and geese either. I beleive the Krug family had waterfowl up there before they gave it to the city. The city did put in an island in the lagoon after losing eggs and babies to preditors.

Wish they would take better care of the water but I would imagin thats difficult with all the people tossin things in that dont know/ dont care about water quaility.
