hi! Just wondered if anyone has any experience with this- from what research I have been able to find online, it is referred to as "hot leg" and is a bacterial infection, I do not see any broken bones or apparent pain, she just limps along. The shank part of leg and extending to 2 of the toes is swollen. I was going to just try a round of tylan, has anyone had any luck with any other meds? thanks very much!

So sorry about your duck, I have a med comparison chart that I got from Twin City Poultry and it says Aureomycin is recommend for bacterial infections, Tylan is for MG and most respiratory infections.

X2.

Is there any way it could be slipped tendon? This can often cause the hocks to swell up.

If that requires xrays, I will probably never know, I dont think I would pay for one, if there's any way I can find out myself, please let me know!
The 3 articles I just read on slipped tendon say it occurs in ducklings? She is almost 5 months and it just started about a week ago.
