Buff hen what are you doing ?

I have a buff hen that is about 13 weeks old and she has made herself, a nest. Do you have any idea why she is doing this so young? She won't be laying for a while right?

That's pretty early for Buff Orpington to start laying. She doesn't look quite red enough in the face, & there's not much of a comb either.

she is so eager! She should start laying in about a month...

I don't see a nest. She might just be digging herself a dust bathing hole. Or digging down to cooler dirt to cool off, if it's a warm day.
