Well My buffs just turn three weeks.. They are got I think most of their feathers.. Is this normal at this age? It seems like I read that it is 5 to 7 weeks when they get their feathers..

I got a white one.. Is that a White Orp?

Then they thru in a different kind but didn't tell me what kind.. Has feather off of the feet and black and white.

Coop is just about done.. Got to add vents and finish the nesting box..

If they are 3 weeks old, they won't have all the feathers in on their heads. They still need the heat lamp. Also you don't want them to go from heat lamp to freezing cold when they ARE fully feathered...try to transition them somehow.

Hard to say what kind of chicken it is without pics.

Mine are 5-1/2 weeks old and in my opinion they feathered up pretty fast compared to my first round of chicks (different breeds). Out of the 4 "buff orps" I got, 3 all look identical - golden, larger, mostly feathered... and the 4th is pretty much white and smaller. I am thinking it gone thrown in by accident and is really a white leghorn or something. It looks nothing like the 3 others.

Thanks,,, I will get some pics very soon!! Love to share.. Yes, I noticed that the head weren't feathered up yet.. Well they started at about 95 degree and in a heated room. The last two weeks i lowerd the room temp and took away one heat lamp and now slowly raising the other one.. they are at around 65 in the room and under the lamp it is about 80 in the corner and at the end of the pen it is about 67 and most of them stay on the cooler side of the pen.. So I am thinking a couple more of weeks and they will be ready to go.. Thanks for the advice.... Site is awesome..

Any good place to get peacocks...
