So I was using this male in a meat project with some Madisons and always presented him as a BO male. My dad told me that according to his neighbor, former owner, told him that it was a Buff Rock he got from an assorted order of Rocks he ordered from Ideal Poultry about a year ago and that he was the only one left since the buff rock females died so he gave him to my dad. I always thought it was an Orphimgton but I guess I was wrong.

I'm sure you will get better input, but I see white legs and a light colored beak. Look at his skin to see if it is white as well.

Buff Rocks have yellow legs, yellow(ish) beak and skin. Also feathers would most likely be "tighter" - not as fluffy as this guy.

He's handsome!

Agreed, I personally feel he's a Buff Orp, as you originally thought. Handsome roo! :D

White/pink skin = Orpington.

Thanks everyone. I knew it was an Orphimgton but my dads neighbor sweared he had ordered assorted Rocks....so I started doubting myself.

And he may well have.

But what you order isn't always what you get :p

Been there. Done that. Last year I ordered 10 Cornish males from Ideal Poultry and received 10 male Cochins. They have good customer service though, I called them and told them their mistake, following week I received my Cornish plus 3 extras.

Agreed that this is, indeed, an orpington -- as to the confusion, who knows it may have been a mixup at the hatchery *or* given it is a male, may have been tossed in as a "packing peanut" with full knowledge it was an orpington.
