Buff orpington hen or roo.. 7 months old

we got this chicken at about 4 months as a rooster, from someone who didn't want a roo, and he was no doubt a Rooster.. huge legs super red comb, bossy... but i am more and more thinking he could be a she?? at 7 months now it does not crow, does not mount anything, and is actually way less bossy then before... but.. it is still considerably taller and bigger then the 3 yr old buff hen we have, and walks much more upright.. advice?!

Our buff has legs like tree trunks. I thought she was going to be a rooster but she turned out to be a girl (who would crow each morning until she started laying eggs).

If that bird is 7 months old it's got to be a girl. A boy would have all his male feathering by that age and he'd surely be crowing.

agreed. My Buff pullets look like that - same body confirmation, posture, floppy comb. And they definitely sing before and after laying (but maybe not all do). At 7 months, depending on where you are, she will begin laying soon and then you will know for sure <G>.
