Buff Orpington Hen Quit Laying Eggs All Together

Yup. Put in my order for those last night. I literately cleared their shelves for Austalorps...yea I know...they are related to orps, but hopefully I don't loose the whole flock again :lau:fl

I really like my Black Australorp, she is one of my friendliest:). Well have a nice day everyone, gotta take my dogs down to the beach for their morning walk. I hope your Buff lays an egg for you today:)

Goodness! That is quite a long break, and at such a strange time of year. If it were mine, I might consider culling if she went 2 more months. Has she been sick, injured, or molting during the time she hasn't laid? Any changes to her diet or environment?

Ok, I've faithfully given eggs for 2 yrs, I need a break bc I'm not a machine, thanks for the service I'm gonna cull you now!

My buffs take breaks some for several weeks, etc. Then they are back to laying daily eggs for many weeks if i culled them I'd miss out on the many eggs they have yet to give

This is just my viewpoint I think our hens need more patience from humans laying eggs does a number on them so they recuperate I often see a flock take turns, 3 girls giving eggs while 3 molt, then they switch, those that molted start laying those laying before start molting etc.
