Buff Orpington hens crest

I have two young buff orpington hens. They are abought 5 months old. Their crests are very tiny. Def not typical crests. I can't find a crest type that they have. Is this possible for an Orpington?

Orpingtons shouldn't have crests at all. Do you mean their comb? Combs can stay small and pale until just before a pullet is about to start laying, so it might just be that - especially if you're somewhere in the northern hemisphere with fairly short days right now, since they'll take longer to start laying at this time of year.
