I ordered four breeds. The White Rocks and the Barred Rocks are easy to tell. I cannot tell the difference between the Buff Orpingtons and the New Hampshire Reds. These little girls (and 2 guys??) are about 10 days old.

Breed #1 Have darkish stripes on their wings and I believe to be all females due to their long wing feathers and feathers sprouting out on back. (I'm hope they are the Buff Orpingtons)

Sorry about so many pics but am trying to give everyone the best shots.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

I have 2 BO chicks right now and they look exactly like the very frist 2 pictures you posted..

Thanks for your expert advice. Dissapointing, but at least I know now. The top two pics are of LuLu my spoiled brat. She is just plain rotten and doesn't think she is a chicken. I guess I'll have to buy her diapers when she gets older so she can hang in the house. LOL.
LuLu likes to sleep in my arms.

Any idea whether the bottom two chicks are roosters (last four pics). Their wings are short and stubby compared to the third one. They are also more outgoing than the other one.

Hey there,

I have Buff Orps... aren't they supposed to have white feet/shanks? That might help in picking out which breed is which. :-)

Take Care,
Bill.
