Buff Orpington pit game cross?

the 4 hens i got a month ago,, have never been touched,, ever,, had to catch them at night in the stables they were roosting in,,, now between jus walking in their pen, and throwing treats,, they dont mind me being there,, but still dont want to be touched,,, and if i do need to catch them,,,,, you should hear the bloody screams,,, poor girls sound like im plucking them hehe.

I have cooped her up for weeks on end and tried many differant ways to get her to join my other chickens. Her problem Is she goes to roost almost 30 minutes before the rest. I guess the best thing to do is to trade her.

games are like most animals, if they were raised WILD they will always be wild to some extent. If u handle them as chicks they will be much tamer. My american games (pit) mix right in with my other chickens just fine.
American games are "superior" chickens in almost every way.
they are disease resistant, strong, have great mothering instincts and can survive in the wild. For fighting purpose they were bred "best" to the "best" so they are just great strong chickens. Im using them to strengthen some of my watered down domesticated breeds to try and make them stronger

I really like her. And if the economy crashes having genes of chickens with the ability to survive on less will be very helpful. My wife loves her and will not let me get rid of her anyway lol. I guess if you turely wanted to create a free ranging chicken that produced eggs, meat and had brains, pit game blood would need to be in it. Now that I no where she lays She has so far layed three eggs since I found her on Moday. 3 days 3 eggs. ime will tell how more productive she is. As of now she lays almost as good as my buff orp.

i have 4 game hens, 1 has laid since i got them a while ago,,, yesterday,, ANOTHER 1 started laying

and its funny,, the biggest girl lays the smaller egg lol

Yep, mine lays a very small egg . But she has layed 4 eggs in the past four days! Shame they smell like cat pee since they are in the outside cats doghouse.

Nice! I think the gamefowl breeds are the most beautiful....however I am not into seperating roos, watering and feeding seperated roos and fencing in the yard. I like freedom. Although I am sure they would too! Just not the other roos freedom lol.
