Buff Orpington/ Plymouth rock cross?

I've hatched this same cross this year (BO roo/BR hen). The chicks are indeed sex-links, and very easy to sex. I've noticed a better hatch rate and livability compared to the purebred BO chicks (hybrid vigour?). I don't know how well they lay yet, but I'd imagine they'd lay just as well or better as their parents...

I have a pair of Buff Rock hens and found a Buff Orpington rooster and thought about crossing, so searched and come to this thread, lol.

Anyone ever cross BO roo with buff rock hens? What do they look like? Can I assume the chicks will be 100% buff.

I have 2 buff rocks available if someone is looking, i thought they were both hens but in not 100% sure maybe one roo one hen, they are about 10 weeks.

Heck yeah

IF you cross a BR roo on BO hens, you will get all barred chicks ranging from clean black barred to some with a good bit of buff leakage.

If you cross a BO roo on BR hens, then you get sexlinks , this is what I did.

Here are the pics pullets are gold/black roos are silver/barred ( I sold them before they started laying so I don't know how well they they though)

Sexlink roo with RIW hens
I know it’s been a while since you posted, but I am very happy to have come across this information!! I just hatched this same cross and I was hoping they were sex linked. I haven’t been able to find any other info on them. Thanks so much!
