Can anyone tell me what to do about this scab I just found on my buff. It was a hard black scab and we put neosporin on it. Should be do something else? She is acting ok kinda quiet. Thank you

Wow that is a big scab. I have had some chickens heal from some bad wounds. You want to make sure the other chickens in the coop are not tempted to peck her wound, because they are attracted to red. You may want to separate her from the others to be safe. You can also monitor her food and water intact better that way. Watch it very carefully for signs of infection, like a funny smell or an abscess developing. If you think their is an infection injectable penicillin G sold at farm stores can treat it.

Wow! I agree to make sure she's separated so others won't peck at the wound. Try to keep it clean and look for signs of infection. As long as
she's eating and drinking I think she'll be fine. I've seen worse heal up just fine.
