Buff orpington rooster (pics)

He's been punted more than most footballs, and I can't catch the bugger to give him a good squeeze. Before I eat him I'm going to try tossing a net over him to catch him and then carry him around for an afternoon - that might teach him something!

That mental image of punting a chicken is hilarious to me. I have two Buff orp roos that are seven weeks old, and they are so sweet. One goes to sleep on your leg and both love affection. When do the hormones start to kick in and make them agressive?

So, far so good. I should be geting a few chicks in may, and alot more by fall. And in a year will be set for the long haul. And the nice thing is everyone who is trading with me knows everyone else. 5 of the top breeders in the country. And ALL know it is important to have a fail safe. I spoke to 2 different breeders who told me identical stories of loosing an entire flock of Silver Laced Wyandottes to mink. 2 different breeders, both wiped out by mink. One here in Indiana, one in Canada. And I bet both would have paid dearly to have what I am offering.

The one I punted is brawndo, my 1/2 and 1/2 Buff Orp/Brahma. I was dumping food into his feeder he saw a weakness and made his move, but, I had caught his intention just in time to place a perfect kick into his cest with feathers flying. LOL Then ,I believe he really is a jealous bird who gets mad at me for giving the girls all the attention and he wants some. So YES I ran his butt down, and getting chicken crap all over me to give him the necessary love that he just earned. A HUGE TITE SQUEEZE till I could hear him grown. then placed him gently down and let him go.
Reinbeau Brawndo is on my short list too!

From what I've heard it's the sweet ones when they're young that turn into the meanest in their 'manhood'. I have to say I don't kick him so much as launch him, I really don't want to kill him, although sometimes I'm tempted

He's from my original 15, and I did raise him from peepdom. He used to be so cute.....

My very first chickens I bought was Brawndo and his 2 sis's. the girls are sooo sweet. And he was too till about 2 months ago. So now I have no hesitation. And cause I am expecting it, I am ready LOL

I know this is an old thread, but oh man. I sure hope this isn't so! My BO rooster, Stanley Roosterface is the sweetest lap rooster ever. He's only 3 months old, though. I am hoping, that since I had to nurse him back from the brink of death when he was 2 weeks old, that he remembers that! LOL
He was so sick he wouldn't let me put him down or leave his sight for a second. He ended up sleeping under my chin (in our bed) with me for a week. He's the first to greet me in the morning and will fall asleep in my lap. And he is so handsome I don't think I could punt him even if he deserves it!
