*Buff Orpington Thread!*

Has anyone else had a chicken have mites that gets under their scales? My friend warned me about that, and I can see why. My chickens scales are starting to shed, and 2 of them have already shed and have LIMPED!!!! Is that normal???

Mine all have white legs, for what it's worth.

From your description is sounds like it could be Scaly Leg Mites. If you would like to post photos (which can be helpful) and ask for a definitive answer you can start a thread on the Emergency/Disease/Injury/Cure forum here:

Here is our sweet Lucy... she is now 11 weeks old and just the kindest and gentlest little lady. And she is so beautiful now with her rich buff feathers all filling in.
