They came from Don Chandler. I think he has had buffs for around 30 years or so.

So this is going to sound stupid but... hens have bright red wattles and combs too? Is there a possibility that one of my three roosters might be a hen because he she is very docile compared to the other two boys... he she has comb and wattle that is red but turned red later than the two boys they are two months old

Yes, Marry, or hire an Oriental. Until 4-6 weeks it's iffy in a lot of breeds , unless they are sex linked.
