Added 6 buff orps to our flock today I tried to upload pic but for some reason wouldn't let me

That is ED a buff orp roo one year old. Not sure how close to standard he is but he is very large. Next to RIR and RIW hens.

My neighbor across the road left her gate open and one of her dogs got out and came over into MY yard and killed one of MY chickens. I'm gonna have to keep them in the backyard now for fear of loosing any more. I'm now down to 5 chickens out of the original 8 I bought last year and I have 3 Buffs and 3 BSL's that are 4 weeks old in the spare bedroom. I am sooooo very mad and upset. My chickens have never gone into anyone else's yard. It is not fair that people let their dogs roam and do things like this. If I would have had a gun, I can tell you I would not have any qualms about shooting that dog in MY yard. I keep my dog contained - it's not that hard. Really, really mad that this happened again - want to go shake somebody.

If you make out a police report then you can at least take them to court that will teach them. I took a neighbor to court when her little dog came in my yard and killed 2 rabbits. I got $50 from her, and she had to pay court fees, then the judge told her if he heard about the dog running again he would order it put down. She got rid of the dog and got another one, a big one. It bit my kid and she ended up in court again. This time he ordered the dog to be put down and she can never havve dogs again.

Call the county humane society and the cops. There are laws to protect against dogs that kill for fun.
