*Buff Orpington Thread!*

@Johnn, I need the name of the Jack Russel in the back ground. The English landscape bucolic children's book in my head simply can not call him 'Jack"
He is keeping an eye on the weather over Bella's right shoulder.
He is weighing her enjoyment of the day over his responsibility to herd her in for her safety.

Did I read too many children's books? Never.

He's called Max :)

I'm getting my first Buff Orpingtons really soon!! I can't wait- they sound like great chickens :)

We did a bunch of research before deciding on getting some. The breed description fits exactly what we wanted for a dual purpose bird! (Nugget however, and 1 other, will be pets haha) So far, they are living up to what we expected! Loving it!

She is especially friendly, and since day one, has made a mad dash to jump into our hands as soon as we open the brooder. Now that she can fly, it's a bit more comical! I had her, Fearless, and another BO out in the yard yesterday with me letting them free range a bit and explore. (They're 5 weeks old, and their coop isn't quite done yet, nor a run.) I would run a few feet away, and she, Fearless(EE pullet) and the other BO would take off flying after me to catch up. It was hilarious! haha :) Those 3 will definitely be pets. A few of the other BOs are friendly, but not overly eager to come to us, and the wyandottes..forget it! The EEs are getting better. But the Buff Orpingtons take the cake! So curious!

Fun! Same here!

Bella and dotty. They are sisters (obviously not through blood) but they were brought up by the same broody. Bella was a year before and she took dotty and lily in when her mam left them. She's not very nice to her now though, but it is Bella
