so sweet!!!!! We are hoping to hatch some baby chicks from our Buff Pair. Since my roo is will other non buff hens as well how does this work can they look like buffs or will they follow what the hen is??Bella's looking a bit sad on her eggs, I am going to give her a check over tomorrow to make sure theres nothing bothering her. Hopefully its just because she's grumpy! She is eating fine etc, as you can see there is a pile of corn next to her on the pic and by the time I collected the other eggs, it was all gone. Hopefully I just caught them pic at a funny angle!

Thanks! It will basically be a mix of the two. I have been told that it will get the fathers egg laying gene if its a female (like if you crossed it with a CLB which lays blue eggs it would probably lay brown/cream eggs like a BO but it depends whos gene is more dominant I guess). It always fun hatching out mixed breeds, you don't know what your going to get!so sweet!!!!! We are hoping to hatch some baby chicks from our Buff Pair. Is the JG the sire of these ?Day 21: all three hatched but one didn't make it. It was lying in the food bowl and the broody was sitting talking to it and trying to get it back under her. Have moved them onto the floor now as we have had chicks fall out the nest box in the past so thought it would be best to do it now. These are the first of my own eggs to ever hatch! 100% fertile!

Bella is broody now and she is really bad! She had two eggs so I took them away and replaced them with an egg that I think will be fertile and one that I don't think is and she went back to her nest and say I front of the eggs so they were just sitting behind her! She also comes off her nest and she clucks like a normal broody but then she kind of just gets bored and starts acting normal!
