Well it all depends on how much time you want to invest in the rooster. Is he worth your time? If he is then I would train him to be better than a "Teenage boy" If he isn't worth the time and is just a problem rooster cull, Cull, CULL!! 

He most likely will not outgrow his annoying stage without intervention from you. I am able to keep 17 roosters in perfect harmony but I am very active in the pecking order and maintain my dominance. Maintaining a pecking order with you as the head will curb his "annoying" persona.

I'm a beginner, so how does one reign in a rooster?
I've got 4 to 5 depending on what this buff turns out to be and until I can figure out how to get rid of htem, I would like them to behave.
Currently I'm keeping the 3 worst offenders isolated in their own run.
It's strange because they get along fairly well together, but throw the girls in the mix and they turn into little monsters.

Roosters always act different when girls are in the mix. Force of habit
If you are just getting rid of tem I would spend more quality time with them. holding them, petting them, and giving them treats. Unfortunately there isn't any quick fix for bad behaving roosters. It takes a while....
You WILL be surprised what more quality time can do to birds.

Well, so far when he's attacking my hens I have yanked him off and held him upside down and let him sqawk then I held him and let him settle down. He is very docile with me and even goes to sleep sometimes. He doesn't struggle so I pet him and talk to him. He's in a small area so I go and sit in there with him and he tries to ignore me but sometimes I corner him and pick him up. Don't know if this is the right thing to do but don't know any other approaches to this matter. He's not as pretty as my Henry was so I have not made an absolute decision about him.
