*Buff Orpington Thread!*

I am new to chickens, but I have to agree- I like the Buff Orpingtons better than my other breeds because they are so calm and friendly. In my coop they also happen to be the bravest, always willing to be the first to try something the other chickens find scary. Here are my girls Lucinda and Goldy. I cannot tell apart though! I wish I could like with my Easter Eggers. They are girls right? lol I think they are.

Awww....your babies are precious. They look like little girls to me too. You could always put those little colored bands on their legs to tell them apart but as they get a little older they will develop a trait or two that will allow you to tell them apart more easily.

Oh that's a good idea! I never thought about that.

My Orpington rooster

My little Orp about 6 weeks old now. I thought this one might be a roo, but I am second guessing that now. Any thoughts if this is a pullets instead? I am thinking maybe if this was a roo, it should be showing longer back feathers (saddle feathers?). I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
